For Body and Soul

Dance and metaphysics have been my passion since childhood. From a young age I have used these tools along with my life skills to enhance and clarify the lives of my students and clients. Now I combine them into one venue with the intent to offer you the most professional, healing and enjoyable experience promoting body, mind and spirit awareness.
I feel that we must connect with our creative self to create harmony in our lives. Our society has overdosed on the material “I’ve got to have it now, no matter what the expense” mentality. This way of thinking has left us spiritually and creatively empty. In using our creativity, we are tapping into our right brain and unconscious mind. In using the gifts of our creative, artistic self, we are more receptive to our five senses and intuition...allowing us to have a more pleasant and productive life experience.
Mystic Ballroom is open seven days a week by appointment. I look forward to meeting you. NANCY SHAPPELL, Director |
TESTIMONIALS
"I'm no Fred Astair, but with what I learned at Mystic Ballroom I had enough confidence to lead my wife and daughters around the dance floor on my daughter's wedding day. I thank Nancy for the last minute, no notice crash course. As a result of what she was able to teach me, and the confidence I was then able to impart to both my daughters, I feel it really paid off. I'd have to say I really got my money's worth!" David Dyer Newfield, Maine
"Nancy and David have a way of teaching even the most beginner student how to dance like they have done it for years. It's the easiest way to learn to dance and have the best time all wrapped into one." John Eastman Conway, New Hampshire Recreation Department Director
BEYOND BALLET
"I feel beautiful, like I'm six feet tall...I feel it in my soul." Ann Stackpole, Beyond Ballet Student
"She may feel it
in her soul...but I feel it in my caboose. I never knew
that at this age my back side could look this good!"
Susan Bonagura, Beyond Ballet Student
"The other day I was out in the
yard doing ground work with my horse. She was being pushy and head strong
and not really paying any attention to me. I was getting frustrated. I
took a moment, it was a split second, and remembered my posture. I took a
deep breath, pulled myself up an inch, brought my shoulders back, relaxed
and focused. At that instant my horse became collected, relaxed and paid
attention to me! It was amazing. What a joy to have such a reaction from
something as simple as proper posture.
Ballet has helped me in so many
ways with my riding. The positions, balance and control you need to learn
in ballet are very similar to what I am being taught in riding. Doing the
two together only makes me stronger in both."
Bridget Ronaghan, Beyond Ballet Student
